A Homecoming Dinner

With my car filled to the brim with mylar balloons, I was on one of my very last errands for a homecoming dinner. Dotter was one step closer to graduating and soon she and her friends would part ways.

Together, she and I created a homecoming dinner fav. It was shiny. It was red, black, and silver. It was classic.

The men were all suit & tie; but, the song would follow two years later.

After some last-minute costume changes in the bathroom together, the ladies were stunning.

To be honest, I don’t even remember what we served; but, with a tablescape like ours, who cares, amirite?

A great tip for dinner parties: Buy chargers off-season. You can get red, green, silver, and gold all for up to 90% off after Christmas if you keep on the look out. They can be used for all kinds of occasions since they’re generic.

And, of course, our tradition of the stairway group photograph. A lovely night filled with fun memories and something (who knows what) good to eat. But, you know, the tablescape was gorgeous.

These pictures were taken in 2011. it’s so exciting to see these guys grow up and take their own journeys; but, I can tell you without stretching the truth one bit, I really miss my kid’s friends who have moved away. I might also miss making cool tablescapes for them
