Disney’s Aulani Resort in Oahu, Hawaii. we saved Disney’s Aulani Resort for last on our Hawaiian adventure. I saved a few bucks by booking an Airbnb for the first half of our trip. Why? So we could splurge on the second half.
Disney’s Aulani Resort
It’s sooooo pretty. The pools are unbelievable. The beach they have created is perfect. There are snack bars and restaurants on the property, or you can find some awesome eats nearby if you like. The lazy river was our favorite part. Had we not gone during the off-season, I’m sure we would’ve also loved more beach time and some of the activities.
Our cruise ship vacation didn’t even offer us cute towels. What kind of Mickey Mouse outfit doesn’t offer adorably folded towels?
In case you’re heading to Aulani the first time, I have a few thoughts:
- Take the time to ask the staff what you shouldn’t miss for each age group you’re traveling with. This will help you plan your days with your family in the best way.
- Don’t go during the off-season.
- Skip the fancy restaurants. Maybe skip a big lunch and eat an early dinner instead so there’s more time to play & relax by the pools. Check out nearby eats. I hear the shrimp food truck is amazeballs.
- Don’t bring valuables down to the pools.
- Don’t miss the lazy river pool.
- Go all the way down to Aulani Beach. It is what all beaches would be if they could all be man-made. I mean, I’m all for authentic, but sometimes it’s just nice to not have rocks in your feet and coral in your knee.
- Aulani is far away from Waikiki Beach and the airport. Plan your traveling times and out of the area activities accordingly.
- When you first walk into the hotel. check-in is on the right and the gift shop is on the left. You’re welcome.
