Learn how to make streusel for muffins, coffee cakes, pastries, and more!
Cuz, you know, it’s never optional.
Basic Streusel
- 1/2 cup or one stick unsalted butter, cold (cut into small pieces)
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 2/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
Place all ingredients except for the egg into the food processor and pulse until they are well combined. Slowly add the egg and pulse until beautiful and crumbly. Don’t let the crumbles come together! Watch closely.
If you have leftovers, you can store them in a plastic freezer baggy in the freezer for next time.
