Ketchikan Alaska on Princess Cruise Line
After leaving Seattle, we looked forward to our first stop which was Ketchikan, Alaska. It was a pretty mighty feeling pulling up to the docks in our floating hotel. It felt like we could see the entire town.
I think, other than ziplining in Juneau (I can’t believe I get to say that now), it was my favorite stop on our cruise.
I recommend touring Dolly’s House.
It’s great for some giggles and Dolly’s story is pretty unbelievable.
Ketchikan was fun to wander around with all the boardwalks and touristy shops. I got some Raven’s Brew coffee & smoked salmon for our loved ones.
We wandered around town and then took a walk to the Totem Heritage Center.
I recommend checking this place out as well. It’s pretty fascinating.
And then back to the ship for dinner. Roasted Pork Belly with homemade applesauce, crispy roasted potatoes, and sauteed spinach.
Slow-Roasted Corn-Fed Prime Rib, Rosemary Jus and Horseradish Cream with corn on the cob, char-grilled tomato, and baked Idaho potato.
The coffee was always perfect.
Some of the sights.
This little red boat came to our ship for some reason. Probably just brought some duct tape. I’m sure everything was just fine.
The balcony room is the way to go if you can.
Grilled Medallions of Beef Tenderloin with Madeira-Truffle Demi-Glace an array of carrots, pattypan, & zucchini squash, almond croquettes.
Ice cream with butterscotch sauce. I must admit. I stopped getting other desserts because butterscotch syrup never disappoints; but, desserts that have been stored with other flavors in the fridge too long do.
I happened to pass by the Captain’s Champagne Reception. Not a fan of champagne but I am a fan of dangerously-stacked champagne glasses.
