This Thai Peanut Sauce pairs well with many Thai or Indonesian dishes.
Looking for a new sauce to pair with some veggies or plain chicken? Give this yummy sauce a try!
Thai Peanut Sauce
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup water or coconut milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon chili oil
- 1 tablespoon peanuts, chopped (optional)
- Coconut milk (optional)
Place all of the ingredients in a saucepan. Whisk and cook over medium-high heat until the sauce starts to simmer. Remove the pan from the heat and place the sauce in a serving dish.
If you’d like a thinner sauce, just stir in some coconut milk until it reaches the consistency you’d like to be.
Note: I like to add chopped nuts on the top of a dish to represent the nuts that is in the recipe. This is a helpful warning to those with nut allergies which can range from discomforting side effects for some to being lethal for others.
